More Ways to Make Money Online

A Further Look at Making Money Online
One method of making money online is considerably less reliable than traditional retail business, but considerably more interesting. Although it is unlikely that most individuals will be able to make a living out of this type of revenue generation, it can certainly provide a considerable amount of extra cash with relatively little pain. This method of making money is taking advantage of online markets.

This money-making method has its roots in activities much older than the Internet. Since people have been engaging in economies, they have been attempting to buy goods at a low price and resell them at a higher price for a profit. This method of making money takes many forms, but one of them is to buy finished products that an individual no longer wants and find someone that does want those products.

Traditionally, someone that wanted to take advantage of markets might shop around at flea markets and garage sales to find arbitrary objects at a relatively low price. They would then sell these products at a boutique shop or to individuals that they know would be interested in them.

Although it rare for anyone to make a great deal of money by scrounging for items at garage sales, people often enjoy this activity and find it to be a good hobby. The Internet has taken this same concept and—in a way that only the Internet can do—transformed it into a viable money-making opportunity.

With Internet market places, people looking for cheap items have access to virtually limitless products at very low prices. On top of that, they have unlimited access to other people that are interested in those very same products but do not know how to get to them.

That is where the money-making prospects come from: if you can find cheap products online and then resell them for a much higher price with no extra effort or money, then there is plenty of opportunity for profit. The real key is knowing where to find cheap items and knowing where to find people that are willing to pay more for cheap items.

Restaurant Web Sites Unfriendly

This is a great article about what is wrong with many restaurant web sites. If you are a web site owner and need a redesign after reading this, contact us here.

Many Restaurants Remain Oblivious to Mobile Web - Boing Boing
A few years ago, for reasons that are still unclear, restaurants that created web pages went wild for Flash and graphics. You'd go to a restaurant's website and be forced to watch some lame animation or other alleged art, and then have to endure even more of it just to find out what was on the menu. You still do, in many cases

Your Sunday Sites - Making the Most of Free Google Tools

This week's Sunday Sites are going to focus on the suite of free tools that Google has to offer the webmaster or web site owner. These tools are incredibly valuable for any SEO campaign beause they are published by Google themselves. We are able, with these tools, to get a glimpse of how Google sees our web sites.

1. Google Webmaster Tools - www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ - This extensive set of tools allows you to control how often Google indexes your site. It also lists errors that Google sees with your site. It lets you know what pages on your site are included in Google's index. Other features include top search queries, content analysis, lists of feed subscribers and much, much more.

2. Google Analytics - Google analytics tracks who visits your web site, where they are located, where they were referred from (ie. from a search engine, a link on another site, etc) and how long they stayed on your site. This tool is extremely informative.

3. Google AdWords Keyword Tool - adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal - Even if you don't use Adwords, this tool is useful. This tool allows you to enter in keywords and key phrases and it pumps out a list of those keywords plus suggestions and how many searches per month they receive. A very helpful tool when deciding which keywords to optimize your web site for.

4. Google's Feedburner - feedburner.google.com - This tool helps you optimize, publicize and monetize all your RSS feeds. I would not suggest attempting to run a successful blog without this tool. It is, far and away, the most valuable RSS tools I have ever used.

5. Google Subscribed Links - google.com/coop/subscribedlinks/ - Subscribed Links let you create custom search results that users can add to their Google search pages. You can display links to your services for your customers, provide news and status information updated in near-real-time, answer questions, calculate useful quantities, and more.

6. Google Toolbar - toolbar.google.com - Saving the best for last, this toolbar allows you to see your web site's PageRank, check your web site's backlinks, search Google without navigating to their homepage, check your Gmail account, send pages with your Gmail account, autofill forms and a lot more.

We hope you enjoyed this week's Sunday Sites and hope you'll read again next week!

Google Pagerank Calendar

Google Pagerank and Backlink Update History Calendar
Lots of SEO's (Search Engine Optimizers) have sworn off checking Pagerank and waiting around for updates, but I think we all know that these updates are still very interesting, and the numbers are still a very important part of SEO. They can give us a peek at what kind of progress we are making with our SEO campaigns in Google, THE most important Search Engine for SEO, since a high ranking in Google is much more valuable than all of the other search engines combined.

So I decided to keep track of the various Google updates. Its handy to know when big changes happen with the Google index. Usually Google updates somthing at least once a month. This calendar style chart will be updated for each time Google Updated this year. We will have an ongoing record of updates.
