SEO for the Average Joe

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving traffic to your Web Site from Search Engines using targeted keywords. This means that the more you focus your website on your niche the more traffic for your niche you will receive, which translates into More Qualified Buyers!

Optimizing your site means more recognition by Google, Yahoo, MSN, and all the search engines. The Keywords you want to use in your website are words that people would type into the search engines to find your product.

It is best to design your website for one particular niche and not a wide variety. For example if you sell Shoes, you would want to design a site for the different types or Brands of shoes. You build a website for 'Ladies Shoes' or 'Nike Shoes' or 'Golf Shoes'. Focusing on 1 product or 1 type of product.

Having to many different or non-related products will dilute your keyword relevance and lower your ranking in the Search Engines. It is inexpensive and well worth building multiple sites for different types of products rather than trying to pile them in one site.

Why is Search Engine Optimization important? 100% Free! - You don't have to pay for traffic 100% targeted! - What could be more targeted than a person who actually SEARCHED for what you're offering? 100% Auto-pilot! - You don't have to send any emails or place any ads. Your visitors will come round the clock regardless of where you are or what you're doing. There is many online articles and online training courses available to help you learn about & understand SEO. There are also several software packages available that help make Search Engine Optimizing your site easy.
